For his own building, our founder designed and installed a surveillance network that records 18 cameras for about three months, keeps running through power cuts, and lets the committee check any camera from their phones.

The brief
Months of footage, and no recording lost to power cuts.
Al Mahmood Residency is a ten-flat housing society in Mumbai, and the building our founder lives in. The managing committee wanted the common areas and the perimeter covered day and night, footage kept for months rather than days, and recording that carries on through power cuts.
The Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer also needed to check any camera themselves, on a monitor in the building or from their phones.
How the system is built

- InternetA load-balancing router with multiple internet connections, so remote viewing keeps working if one line drops.

- BackboneA fiber link from the core to a dedicated PoE surveillance switch.
